I have forwarded (from my Thunderbird account) an email from our local hospital about an appointment to my mailfence address three times now, but all three were deemed undeliverable by the mailer-Daemon. I removed all links on the third attempt in case that was the problem, but no luck.

Error code: 554 Rejected : Spam ?

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

How do I do that? Is my question. Is there a 'Postmaster' address to use?

Running Win10, all the sudden I'm getting Not Responding messages, failures to connect to server, and slow deleting of emails. I tried everything: uninstalling/reinstalling; running on troubleshooting mode; checking compatibility. Nothing works. Any ideas?

I have this problem. On only 1 PC from 5, with same mailboxes installed and same configurations, on one of the mailboxes, Thunderbird does not accept setting to "not read" the letter. I tried making time to read the letter and it worked for 10 min, and then again stopped. At final, no matter how it is set, when I push to read the message it always read it.

Tried repairing the folder, but doesn't work.

Any Ideas will be great.

I can get a couple hundred e-mails but none since 5-31-2026. I can see later e-mails in yahoo but I use thunderbird because yahoo is too cumbersome to use for just E-mails. I sometimes get a message that my account is being processed. I have had this problem before but can't remember how I got out of it. I am computer literate but I am also 91 years old. Think Biden! I need emails! I am frozen in the middle Roku install because I never got their code and they are now frozen.

I've been using Thunderbird on Windows 10 since last year sometime. Currently I'm on version 151.0.1.

I've 4 x mailboxes here and since yesterday, 3 of them show me an unusual message when checking for emails. I tried attaching a screenshot but although the screenshot uploaded, I couldn't find a way to insert it here. But the message says Unable to write the email to the mailbox and asks me to check if I've write privileges (which I have) and to cheek the available disk space.(currently 101GB free).

The message is happening 2 or 3 times each day and lasts for about half an hour, then everything works fine again. Has anyone else seen this??

I received a spam message this morning that had a "Disposition-Notification-To" (aka Read Receipt) line that had MY email address on it. I honestly don't know why a spammer would do this - but that's not the issue. I have Read Receipts disabled, but Thunderbird generated an email (to me) and sent it to my mail host. This seems like a bug. Even if the Read Receipt has my email address on it (making it mostly harmless), Thunderbird shouldn't have generated the message. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

Hello, I am using thundebird since 2022. I need to use new PC and transfering all emails, However some [sub folder] does not go through. we tried several times and try delate special character, but it did not go well.Ex.folder name Malaysia has subfolder but Aus is not.

Is there any solution?

I have an address book setup with a number of what I'll call sub books for want of a better name. I used to be able to copy a contact from the address book to a sub book. I have either forgotten how to do that or something may have changed. I tried to drag & drop the address from the main book to the sub book but that doesn't work any longer. What am I missing here?

This is actually the same in Firefox, and both only since today, working fine before:

Typing Ctrl-C does nothing, Ctrl-X deletes whatever is selected, but it does not end up in the clipboard. In fact, if the clipboard contains something, it will be removed (Win-V still shows it, but it can no longer be pasted). When copying from somewhere else, pasting with Ctrl-V works.

AFAICT, no issues with any other programs.

Latest versions of FF (151.0.2) and Thunderbird (151.0.1), on Windows 10.

What could be wrong?

I need to save all my emails in outlook on my harddrive so that I can change from Imap to POP. Reason being is that optusmail has taken over some of my folders in Outlook and transferred them into optusmail without my permission. All my existing emails in outlook are now deemed to be part of optusmail, so the mailbox is always nearly full. I need to retain my existing email address. I have been advised to make the Imap/POP changeover to restore my control of my emails in Outlook. Will installing Thunderbird allow me to avoid all these other actions to achieve email control ?

Everything working just fine last night. Wake up and Thunderbird will not retrieve emails.

Remembered this old message I got so I went through and deleted my second email address, didn't help.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Anyone have any ideas?

SEARCH MODE IS NOT WORKING IN MAIN OR SUB FOLDERS. AS A TEST, I SEARCHED FOR A WORD THAT I KNEW WERE IN THOSE FOLDER[S] AND IT COULD NOT FIND. IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT HARD TO DO; THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOGGING ME FOR YEARS AND I JUST MOVED ON WITH NO ANSWER. PLEASE HELP.

Two identical spam emails came in, and I deleted both from my Inbox. Both had attachments. Deleting them moved them to the Trash folder. When I went to the Trash folder, I found both emails had been combined into one file. Is that "threading"? I don't want any emails to be combined together EVER. Previously I had checked the "Unthreaded" box in Settings; so if this was threading, why did it happen?

Another question: I couldn't find anything to do with this combined file but to delete it. Did the act of deleting it also delete the attachments, which probably contained viruses?

This "threading" business has been going on for years now. I always check the options that supposedly disable it, but then it keeps happening.

Ich habe die Anwendung auch schon komplett deinstalliert und wieder aufgespielt. Hat sich leider nicht geändert.

I had to log in this morning, the first time as its automatic, and when i did all my folders and emails have gone. Where are they as there is important information in there which i need. The page layout is different too as i can't delete anything. HELP

Why does the Thunderbird search for an email with certain information no longer work? It used to work OK. Now it usually fails to find any messages with the selected data. eg search for all messages that have jv16 in either the subject or body text. I know there are several in my Thunderbird but they are no longer found by the find function (although they do exist as found by a manual search).

Couple months back had to restore computer. Wouldn't let me add my POP gmail account, said had to use IMAP. POP was no longer accepted or something to that effect. So I got IMAP set up. (Of course, I did save my old POP folder with some messages in it.) Ever since setting up the IMAP folder I only get maybe 30 messages each morning. Never more. Which is no way right. I've googled and tweeked the synchronization/storage settings and the server settings. Nothing works. I'll spend hours googling suggestions and trying them, then get frustrated and move on. Then a week or so later I go thru it all again. Nothing changes!! Still only get the very few emails each morning. About 30 or so minutes after the initial download of messages, I'll get a pop up saying imap connection lost. This is SO frustrating. I have no idea what to try next. I never had this kind of issue with any of my POP accounts. Any suggestions? I've probably already tried them but will certainly give it another try. Thanks! Lynn

In reference to the article [[Knowledge Base Article|http://mzl.la/1ApHiU3]], "Move Thunderbird data to a new computer", this misses the transfer of Local Folders.

The instructions only include moving the Thunderbird application data folder with profile information but does not include Local Folders, after completing these instructions the Local Folders will not be present on the new computer.

The path for Local Folders is under Account Settings > Local Folders, this folder needs to be copied to the similar path on the new computer as well.

I have copied emails from a Windows 10 to Windows 11 computer using these instructions and it appears to work.
