hello, i cannot seem to find a solution online, hopefully someone can help.

i often receive emails with images attached, and most of the time people don't resize their images. you can imagine over time this all adds up in the email storage folder total size.

i dont always need to keep a 6mb image version, it can be reduced after i am done.

i would like a method to resize the received emails image attachment, to at least still have a smaller copy for refence, but not end up with a huge thunderbird email account profile (in the email received not externally saved)

preferably a one click solution, or even a routine i can run on the file system, etc. or some way to edit the received email and its attachment in program.

Menu: Message>attachment>delete all

When delete all attachments for a message, when delete all attachments, auto move to the next message.

This behavior is annoying, usually I first delete all attachments and then reply but message position is in the next message.

This behavior is for example for version 140.7.1esr and 140.8.1esr.

I want to send photographs from my Android phone to the "pictures" section of the Thunderbird e-mail program. The photos are going into that section but I can't see the picture itself as they just show wording as extensions. How do I get the actual picture to show up? How do I put my desired description of each of the "pictures" on the list along with the extension wording?

I attached a 9 mb html file to an email and sent it. In sending it was broken up into 10 different emails.. In receiving it, I found 10 emails and don't know what to do with them. I selected all 10, and there appeared a window with the word "archive" . Which I clicked and now all 10 email are in a subfolder named Archives.. I still don't know what to do with them in order to join them together into the original readable file.

Would appreciate some suggestions...

I newly installed Thunderbird 148 on a Windows 11 laptop (after uninstalling a previous installation under a different user). I connected to a Yahoo Mail account and downloaded all the emails from the Yahoo inbox.

Emails with attachments (.pdf and .docx) visible online in Yahoo Mail do not include these attachments when downloaded to Thunderbird.

I received an email with 7 attachments. 2 of the attachments had similar filenames (not identical). When I selected "Save All" the 2 similar filenames were not saved. See screenshots for details
