I have several Gmail POP3 accounts. When I click 'Get Messages' in Thunderbird, I want to download only from some of those accounts, not all of them. This happens at the moment, but I want to change the list of accounts which I access everytime and I can't remember - nor find - where the setting is to tell Thunderbird which ones to download and which not to. Can anyone help please?

Hi I have been using thunderbird for a long time and in the last couple of days, it will not download emails for any of my accounts. I am running Version 115.3.1 from my desktop machine. My laptop which is running Version 102 will download emails from all my accounts. I am assuming the latest upgrade has affected the downloads.

I hope you are doing well. I tried posting this topic yesterday, but for some reason I don't think it has been posted. I'm having an issue with thunderbird attachments, that is, saving them. But before I describe my issue, please give keyboard only solutions as I'm completely blind. I tried to contact the thunderbird groups io but I still don't have posting permissions. Anyway back to the issue. So I open the sent message. I press the toggal button, which shows the list of attachments. Rather than wanting to click save as or save all attachments, I want to copy the attachments that somebody has sent me. The problem is, while it coppies the last attachment with control c, I can't copy the first one, even though when I reach the top jaws and NVDA speak the first file. Is there an addon to fix this problem? If so, please let me know.

On 27 September I was prompted to send an error report to Mozilla, which I did. When I checked my email, I found that the contents of my inbox had disappeared - there was only a blank space. Later I found that the missing mail was only for this year - mail from 31 Dec 2022 and before then is still there. And new emails arriving since then are displayed normally. Any idea what has happened? And is it possible to get the missing emails restored? Thank you. Nick Terdre

Hi I am using Thunderbird & Edge. For years I have had notification of new unread emails under Inbox, I have clicked on Inbox and opened them. No Problem A couple of weeks ago this changed, after I believe an update. Now I still get the notification of new emails (& number of) in Inbox but could not access them. I discovered that now I have to click on the line above (which is my email address) which takes me to another page where I have to click on Read Messages which takes me back to Inbox! Why all this palaver. Please do not reply using jargon as I won't understand it. Gavin

I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking extensively. I've been using it successfully in Thunderbird for years now.

Suddenly today, nothing I dictate in Dragon is being recognized or typed in in Thunderbird. Dragon is working just fine here in my browser, and every place else. So I suspect the issue may not be with Dragon, but instead with Thunderbird. I applied the Universal Computer Fix of rebooting my computer, but that hasn't helped.

Is it possible something in the latest Thunderbird update has broken my ability to use Dragon?

in Supernova two changes make life painful: 1. In multi-level nested folders an indicator is placed only on the top and bottom layers and not in a middle level. this makes it difficult to find mail in bottom level folders.THIS IS A CHANGE that is bad! 2. Previously when one changed folders to find new mail the window into the folder would hold the subject lines for the new mail. The changes at 115 do not, positioning the view arbitrarily! THIS IS A CHANGE that is bad!

First, I have more tech problems than I can shake a stick at and I m dealing with concussion and screens (monitors, cell phone, etc) aggravates and I don't track as well online as usual, so I'm asking for help sooner than I would hoping y'all can break it down very smply for me. Thunderbird v.59.2 on Windows Vista desktop. Yup, Vista :-) Cable provider died, so years of emails to addresses using isp-provided email addresses are in Thunderbird but can't use emails.

In short term got TMobile 5G wireless and it is hideous, beware! For now I use my cell as hotspot to get on internet on old desktop.

I'll list what I've tried in a sec, but here's my ultimate goal: I want to get AT&T fiber installed and hooked up on new desktop (Windows 11) and install latest thnder bird there and bring over old files. Before installing at&t I have to formally cancel with former cable provider (it's in an odd limbo). I've assumed it's better to cull all email addresses related to those email accounts before severing all ties.

What I tried: Followed this thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1255223

I can't upgrade to v60 with Vista. I modified advanced config and added strict config Boolean setting and set to false and added check compatibility 59.2 setting and set to false.

The email crawler add on still gives me not compatible error. I restarted Thunderbird and that didn't help, unfortunately.

What can I do?

Again, my two main concerns are 1) harvest email address on my dead email accounts so I can send notifications of my new email addresses and 2) prepare to move all Thunderbird stuff to new desktop once I have working wireless internet to facilitate.

When I open thunderbird as I have done hundreds of times before it will not download the emails from webmail. The mail exists in webmail but will not transfer into thunderbird

I've just updated Thunderbird to v115, and have been setting up my folder views as I'd like them.

In one of my RSS feed folders, I set up a column layout. I'd like to use this for all my RSS feeds, so I do the following:

• From the dropdown at the right hand side of the column headings, choose "Apply columns to..." > "Folder and its children..." > "RSS" > "RSS"

• In the confirmation box that appears, click "OK"

There's no indication of any error or warning, but the operation silently fails. That is: when I look at any of the other RSS feed folders (which are descendants of "RSS" in the tree view), none of them have had my desired column layout applied to them.

Am I doing something wrong in the UI, or is this a bug?

(Note: this functionality *does* work for non-RSS folders. For example, if I do the above procedure, except for "Local Folders" instead of "RSS", then the column settings are correctly applied to every folder that is a descendant of "Local Folders". So the issue seems to be specific to feeds as opposed to mail.)

Went for the 115 update without checking reviews (won't do that again!). Tried to 'revert' to old but that didn't work. Ended up installing 78.14 64-bit from old download. Profile brought up Archives folder with current (2023) contents but Local Folders are not more recent than 2000.

Where/how can I get recent Local Folders?

On latest version 115.3.1 (64 bit) when I click on GET MESSAGES nothing seems to happen for several minutes than after repeated clicks on same suddenly line at bottom shows downloading some number of messages. Is this something I am doing to slow what used to be very speedy process to download messages from Comcast server to my PC?

When I opened Tbird app today, my messages show in various folders but only a list of messages, not a screen to view contents of message being examined. I did not do anything I am aware of to change this and haven't been able to locate setting to turn on the message content view again. Also on list of messages, they are shown but with a much wider spacing (double space?) with lot of wasted blank space. How to correct this?

Using Thunderbird, I can receive and read SMIME signed or encrypted emails from most people, except from one customer organization. Signed (not encrypted) emails from this one particular customer organization are blank, but with an attachment of smime.p7m.

I can read the same email on my phone without any problem.

My name is Muhammad, and I am completely blind. Firstly, thanks for the help on the previous topic, it really helped. Second, I'm perfectly aaware of the thunderbird groups io service for the blind. In spite of having posted there multiple times, my message is waiting for approval from the moderators, I don't know why. This issue has been bugging me for days, and I'd appreciate a solution. And when I mean solution, I don't mean things described in a visual way, such as do this and this with the mouse. If there are any visually impaired users that use jaws or NVDA here, I'd really appreciate it if you can help. Okay, now onto my problem. The problem is copying attachments from a file that somebody sent me. Yes, I know there is the save as or save all attachments option, and the attachment extractor tool, but that's not what I'm talking about. My problem is this I open the email. I go to the toggle button and press it with the enter key. There the list of attachments shows. Rather than having to click save as and brows for the folder I want, I want to be able to copy the attachment to the clipboard and then paste it into the folder of my choosing as it is sometimes more efficient than having to brows, especially if you need to paste 5 different attachments in five different folders. I know outlook can do this. So I have two files in the attachments list from the test message I sent myself. I press control c to copy and paste into the folder. Though it copies the last attachment file, I can't copy the first file. So the first file I have is a siron sound effect, and the second is a song. The song file, which is the last, it is pasted into the folder I want. However, when I arrow to the first file, which my talking program can read, it reads the file. But when I press control c to copy it to the clipboard, it doesn't copy for some reason. What can I do to get around this issue? Is there an addon that can help? Also, please give keyboard only solutions. If there isn't an addon that can fix this, would someone kindly make an addon for this for the benefit of everybody else? I know outlook has this feature so I thought it would be good if thunderbird also has it. Best regards, Muhammad.

Hi, I do not see my Sent Folder in 4 of my 7 POP3 accounts.

I have used Thunderbird for all my email accounts for ages. I was running 52.9.1 (32 bit) on an old Windows Vista Computer. I moved to a Windows 11 computer and installed Thunderbird 115.2.0 (64 bit).

Importing did not work but I read the work around of copying the C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird Folder from the Vista Computer and pasting it into C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\ on the new computer. I also had to delete: cert8.db, key3.db, secmode.db (all obsolete), pkcs11.txt (did not exist), session.json, xulstore.json. Thunderbird came up with all my email accounts and I thought, all my emails. I thought I saw SENT email but now do not know for sure. I had to put in the passwords and my address books.

I recently sent an email and noticed that there was no Sent Folder in 4 of the 5 accounts I have with my website provider. None of my old sent emails show in those accounts either. I have two Hotmail accounts set up as POP3 as well. They have both my old Sent emails and the ones I send now.

All accounts are set to delete after 14 days, so any old emails are from the back up of the old computer. I went into Troubleshooting Information and under Application Basics, I opened the Profile Folder. I go to the MAIL folder and see folders for the different emails. I see a ‘Local Folder’ and then mail.mywebsite.com, mail.mywebsite-1.com, mail.mywebsite-2.com, mail.mywebsite-3.com folders for “my website” emails, and pop.mywebsite.com folder and pop-mail.com and pop-mail-1.com folders.

They all have Sent files and Sent.msf files. The Sent files are of reasonable size like 100,000 kbs. The pop.mywebsite.com folder and pop-mail.com and pop-mail-1.com folders all display a Sent folder. The others do not even after I send an email but the sent and sent.msf file show the new date and time for the file, so I think they are updating.

How do I get my Sent emails to show in Thunderbird?

With the update of Thunderbird, I can no longer download new email to one of my accounts by clicking "Get Messages". Clicking on Get Messages returns "The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server *** responded: [AUTH] Invalid credentials." The *** reference is to my Gmail account and the error names the Gmail account. I am trying to get messages from my other account, which is my main email account. Both accounts are registered with Thunderbird.

The incoming server is a POP3, and the user name and default port of 110 are correct. Connection security is "None" and Authentication is "Password,transmitted insecurely ". The password I am using is the correct password.

I updated Thunderbird from version 102.14.0 to version 115.1.0 and I have a problem. I don't see any emails, nor folders, nor accounts, nothing. Only on startup do I see the accounts being updated and new mail being downloaded. I can see all the accounts in the account settings. But I can't access the emails. Can you please advise how to solve this problem? Profim can no longer be returned to version 102.14.0. Please help quickly. Well thank you.

If you want your 'Message List' to use alternative colour stripes often refered to as zebra style then I have put together some code and instructions on how to create the effect.

Obviously you may need to modify the actual colours used. The following works on a Light theme. The striping is white and pale grey. On hover the text is black on a pale blue background. On select the text is white on a light blue background, but strong enough to show white text clearly.
