When you open firefox private mode, it says leave no trace. Assuring users that whatever happens in their private session, stays in that session, but this is a blatant lie and firefox knows this. Go to any site that has cookies, or user login, or something similar. login into the site. Than simply remove firefox from ram. Now open firefox again, go to private mode, and go to that site. Most of the time, it still remembers the user. This issue has been present for far too long, not addressed, still pushed to the users that it is safe to use. Instead of warning the users, it is promoting them to use it by saying leaves no trace in this new update. This is unacceptable.

Hey guys, I'm here to report two questions,First, in Firefox Nightly Android version,I tried to close I tried to turn off the "Install and Run Research" button and reopen it to see if there will be any updates, but it deleted all my test features. Since nightly has a lot of my data on it, I didn't try to reinstall the app reproduction. It started with Amazon/Kindle. Couldn't buy books through the Amazon App so I had a workaround which put me into the full site amazon.co.uk. Not anymore. Firefox redirects me into the App regardless. I can only get into the full site now by uninstalling Amazon Shopping. That's silly. Now, Firefox is blocking legitimate site links from my emails, like Greenpeace, for example. Variations on "site blocked" messages. Switching to DuckDuckGo avoids all these issues. I'm currently on the latest Nightly builf of firefox via the play store: version 143.0a1

It has been a few updates already, but I am annoyed at the need for a couple clicks or seconds for me to navigate to a private tab.

In the stable version of firefox, users can click the glasses icon at the top right corner of the home page to toggle private tabs.

At the time of this writing, Nightly users need to either…

• Click Back in navigation > long press the tab square icon for 2 seconds > select private tab
• Click Back in navigation > click the tab square icon > Click private (tab tabel) > click new tab button

Now my question: is there a way to bring back the glasses icon on the home page for quick toggling private tabs? I do not want to enable private tabs by default.

Things I tried with no luck: - enabling the secret menu - toggling random stuff in the secret menu - uninstalling and re-installing firefox nightly

As of now, I'm dealing with the extra friction, but it is annoying.

Recently whenever I access a internet site, Firefox on my android always opens up in desktop mode. It used to always open up in mobile mode. I can't find a switch to set that. How can this be done?

I came from kiwi browser & they had a customized button beside the bottom address bar that can be use as shortcuts.

One of the shortcuts that cna be mapped is extensions. Can Firefox add something like that? That would make ur browser much better? Could be enabled disabled so it's by choice

When downloading, the popup that tells you that the download is complete no longer has a little X you can push to get rid of it, you have to swipe. What is worse is tagtbit STAYS up until you do! Who thought this up some kind of sadist?!

please, there isnt a "sync and save your data" option!! there is no qr scanner or use email instead prompt. just that MOCKING little "sync now" in account settings that does nothing!! PLEASE

I am trying to enable GPC on my phone as I have been having problems for a long time. When I type it into the address bar, nothing happens.So unable to choose the preference I require. Thank you

I launched Firefox the usual way with a private browsing shortcut today and it opened a regular, non-private window. I checked the settings to select again "Add private browsing shortcut" and went in the app drawer to make sure I was tapping the right one. Still, a regular, non-private window. Rebooting the phone did nothing. App is in the latest release version.

Opening a private window is still possible by tapping the mask icon in the initial non-private window or by long pressing the shortcut and choosing New private tab, but that in no way replaces actually launching the browser in private mode as default like the app itself promises and used to do. According to Reddit, I'm not the only one experiencing this.

How software gets updates with such a glaring flaw is beyond me and I can't decide whether it is worse if this is an accident or intentional.

Before the update that just dropped, whenever I would open the app, it would open in private browsing by default. After the update it opens a regular non private tab. Any way to fix this?
