Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Thank you for your answer. I would do that except that button doesn't show up in the cropped image I get. It looks exactly as you see it in the attached image. Otherwise I wouldn't have a problem. /Richard

Thank you for your answer! I did as you adviced but that didn't help either. And the zoom control adjust the whole page, not just the add-on. So I'm thinking that the people whom have build the web in question are out bicycling, they don't really know what they are doing.
