Quick Answers is a built-in AI assistant in Firefox for iOS that lets you ask questions using your voice and receive short, easy-to-read answers directly in the browser.

Turn on Quick Answers

Before using Quick Answers, make sure the feature is enabled.

  1. Open Firefox on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap the menu button.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to AI Controls.
  5. Turn on Quick Answers.

You can also enable Quick Answers from the Site menu:

  1. Open the Site menu.
  2. Find Quick Answers.
  3. Turn it on.

Ask a question

After enabling Quick Answers:

  1. Open the Firefox Home page.
  2. Tap the Quick Answers microphone button.
  3. If prompted, allow Firefox to access your microphone and use speech recognition.
    Note: The permissions Firefox requests depend on your version of iOS. On iOS 26 and later, Firefox only requests permission to access your microphone. On iOS 18 and earlier, Firefox requests permission to access both your microphone and speech recognition.

  4. Ask your question naturally.
  5. Read the AI-generated answer displayed on the screen.

Quick Answers provides concise text responses rather than spoken answers.

Examples of questions you can ask include:

Turn off Quick Answers

You can disable Quick Answers at any time.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap AI Controls.
  3. Turn off Quick Answers.

You can also turn the feature off from the Site menu.

Privacy and permissions

The first time you use Quick Answers, Firefox asks for permission to use your microphone and speech recognition.
