The "Attach" button doesn't work when composing an email; it is not possible to add file attachments.

When i write a email and i attempt to join a file (CTR+MAJ+A or join button + File), nothing happens. It's the first time that i encounter this issue. I try to reinstall thuderbird but it was without effect on this issue.
Is it a new bug on this version ? Thanks

I can send emails, send anything that I have saved in my inbox but I am unable to do new emails with attachments. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird but it still will not allow me to do attachments.

Please help! Suddenly I can't attach anything to my emails on Thunderbird. Click on Attach, and try all the other methods to attach something, and absolutely nothing happens! Have been using Thinderbird for decades and this is a first. Have gone into Settings, Composition, Attachments and the option Check for Missing Attachments is ticked. Is there another Setting somewhere that could be stopping me from attaching anything? Thank you for your time
