I´ve been having a problem with thunderbird for a while now and today took the time to do the troubleshoot and checked all the account settings. no firewall, no add ons Researching the problem i came across the incompability of different TLS standards. Apparently when thunderbird updated to 78.0 in 2020 a lot of people had the same problem and solved it by downgrading . Since this problem came on suddenly, possibly when thunderbird upgraded automatically, and it only applys to select emails (about half) I guess different TLS standards, some of which are no longer supported by thunderbird, are the reason for this. If i log in to my mailaccount I can see all the emails, same goes for my mobile devices. That´s how i know thunderbird doesn´t display all the messages. My question: Did anyone else encounter this problem? Did I analize this correctly or did I overlook something? I don´t want to change to another provider. I always liked thunderbird for being simple and clean. But downgrading won´t be a sustainable solution either I guess. Thanx for your help. Have a nice day.

Certain messages in my inbox have the correct header in the actual message, but the wrong sender in the message list - see image.

I've tried repairing the folder, but it makes no difference. Webmail has the correct sender in its message list.

I don't use Archives or Templates. There is no folder on my servers that correspond to these and they are not subscribed in my IMAP settings.

They don't appear in the per-account view. But they somehow appear in the unified folder view.

I am not able to figure out how to make them disappear.

Help.

I am running 152.0 (aarch64) on MacOS Tahoe.

I have noticed lately that Sent mail is often marked as unread. I can mark the folder read, yes, but I am wondering whether this is a bug or a feature. If it's a feature, I don't understand the benefit.

But specifically, I believe the bug/feature may be isolated to mail you send to yourself. I often will send myself reminders or links for later perusal, and I believe this may be part of the issue I'm identifying.

The presumption being if I sent a message, I have read it and therefore marking it unread isn't really useful.

Anyone notice this, and am I missing something (like a setting)?

Have been using Thunderbird and Firefox for decades, naturally, and have several email accounts. Within each account, I'm a prolific user of folders within the respective Inboxes. For years, these folders have remained in Alphabetical Order, as when they were set up. Recently, however, for no reason that I can suss, the sub-folders in the Inbox of one of my accounts have been gone "all agley", ie. they're listed all higgledy-piggledy in random order. This isn't a problem for my message filter - but it's a real problem for me, having to scan down a very long, disorganised list to find any particular folder I want to open. I've searched for an instruction to instruct Thunderbird to arrange the Folders in my Inbox in Alphabetical Order and can't find anything. Can anyone help me, please. I am getting a lot of email dated a month of more in the future. How do I best filter these out as junk? I tried making a regular filter, but can't find a way to set it to "greater than today."

I have found that once an email is put in the trash it will automatically be removed/deleted from the trash.

Today is June 14th and there are no emails in my trash folder older than June 9th.

Is there an account setting in Thunderbird for how long an email once in the trash folder will remain there?

Note, this behavior only occurs in the trash folder.

When I try to send an email using my Mozilla account, the only choice provided is "send later". I do not want and did not knowingly ask for the choice "send later". How can I have my emails sent right away? Thank you very very much for any help you can give me.

Hi, I recently transferred my Thunderbird email to a new Mac. Everything showed up including new emails. But none of my important subfoldersfolders under the inbox showed up. I have all folders on my old computer. Can you guide me on how to recover them or export them to new device? Thank you!

In Thunderbird a password for an email account was deleted from the password list, but then how is a new password applied to that same mail account? I'm only getting error login messages with no apparent field, or opportunity to enter a new password. I'm concerned starting fresh and deleting the email account itself will delete all my saved emails associated with that account.

I've been trying to set up a GPG key, but Thunderbird doesn't recognize my pub.asc file. So I created a PGP key thru Thunderbird and I would like to export it as ASCII-armored public key.

At the start of last week Thunderbird started to be very laggy to the point it is almost unusable.

It was after the update to version 151. Running on MacOS Sequoia

I have tried a number of remedies to try and resolve the issue:

• Compacting mail folders
• Repairing mailboxes
• Clearing the cache
• Rebuilding the search index
• Restarting in trouble shooting mode (this caused Thunderbird to hang)
• I also tried installing the daily build release to see if the issue was resolved

None of the actions above solved the problem. I would very much appreciate any help or experience others have had.

Running 149.0.2 on Mac. Reorganized IMAP folders in Roundcube webmail. Thunderbird still shows old structure. Deleted folderCache.json, no change. No Subscribe option in right-click menu. Many thanks!

After I migrated everything to a different computer, 'Local folders' no longer appears in the side bar, so I cannot archive messages locally.

Can some kind person please help me to reinstate it?

Sorry for long post. Struggling to get backup done, running out of time and other things in life now getting really urgent . Got my Yahoo Mail headache again today. Please can someone advise me? Thunderbird 150.0.2, Mac OS 10.15 7 Catalina, 2018 Macbook Pro.

Not tech-savvy so finding it hard to find what settings to use in TB. Other people's post answers always seem to show dialog options I'm not seeing on my computer

AIMS: - Prevent folders from deleting in my backup, if I delete stuff on Yahoo. - Backup Yahoo emails to a stable, local copy on an external drive, so I can access old emails + attachments independently without it trying to reconnect / synch with Yahoo Mail - After backup, delete more mail to reduce YM storage from 39GB to less than 15. Feel reluctant to do this yet, as I already lost a big folder of work from my backup by trying to muddle my way through this. - Ideally would like to end up with a local copy I can access in Mail Backup X What I've tried; - Backup using Mail Backup X. Took 18 hours and some large folders were incomplete so I tried again after splitting them up in Yahoo Mail. I liked the software but something went wrong on the 2nd try and it now won't connect to Yahoo at all. Deleted and replaced 3rd party password multiple times. Server details are accepted, but then the icon just spins endlessly, hence trying Tbird instead. Deleted the MBX account which meant no error logs available (Yes. I should not have done that). - Tried both IMAP and POP backup using TBird - have added TBird ImportExport add-on but have no idea what settings to use, advice welcomed Questions/assumptions that may be wrong: - Was advised to use server export.imap.mail.yahoo.com, what's the reason for this and would it work? Can't remember if Yahoo allowed me to enter this setting. Sorry, hard to recall as I tried so many times. - POP only backs up 1 folder - Inbox. Really?? that's not a solution then - TBird's default is IMAP so surely it would always try and connect to synch, and so would any copied backup accounts? - if I get the ImportExport add-on settings right, can I *really* achieve the goal of a local offline backup I can trust, that I could keep on an external drive and access later via Mail Backup X?

One of my email accounts will not connect. It was working but has not connected for two days. The message says log in failed for X@yahoo.com.

Thunder bird version 140.10.Oesr on iMac desktop. Just stopped DL mail. Asked me to sign in; shows my user name. When I click NEXT it goes to a blank page and say "too many trys" Next dy; say on first attmpt.
