I get my email in Thunderbird OK, however each time it opens I get a pop up that says could not connect to server

I then click on cancel to get it off my email screen. However it continues to pop up whenever I try to get my email, even though the mail comes through, it says can not … (les mer)

Why can't I send outgoing email on my BT Premium email account from within Thunderbird, when the Norton VPN. I get a timed out or policy block message. Somewhat perversely, it works when the VPN connection is on. although you warn that VPN connections may be rejected.

Any info or ideas?
