About two years ago, I created an account on Mozilla, and by then I'd already set up two-step authentication using the app's Authenticator. But then I had to reset Windows and lost my backup keys and other stuff. Soon after, I experimented with other browsers and forgot about Firefox (I also deleted the Firefox profile in the Authenticator app). Now I've decided to log into my account, but since I can't log in without the app, I figured there's an option to log in using the email linked to the account (I have access to it), but for some reason, they're asking me for an account recovery key. So, I know my email address and have the password for it, but I can't log into my account without the Authenticator app. To try this alternative, I need to know the account recovery key, but I've lost it too. So, I'd be very grateful if anyone knows a solution to this problem. For reference, I also logged out of my Mozilla account on other devices and I haven't received any emails related to this situation (like checking email, etc.).

Since ages ago I've always logged into Firefox and turned on sync so whichever device I was on (or if I have formatted my PC) I would still have acces to my browser history, tabs etc. Today I've formatted my PC to switch from win 10 to win 11 and logged into firefox as usual, but after trying to Sync nothing happens. My tabs, my history, everything is empty for some reason and I cannot find my original device (the one from a few hours ago connected in win 10) in my connected devices list either.

Please help me, my whole life is in that sync :(

No other browser or software is behaving as Firefox regarding playing a tone if I select a menu pull down or Right click on a tab etc.

The answers regarding Sounds from the internet do not correct this as I've already disabled Windows tones. This is specfic to Firefox only. I've tried shutting off extensions and restarting the browser in safe mode or troubleshoot mode. The browser still plays tones with mouse clicks. If I silence Mozilla with my windows area then I can't listen to video audio such as youtube. Toggling audio off and on is annyoing and was never necessary before. This is must be a software issue within the browser.

Why the tones have suddenly begun when they never have before is a mystery. I don't get tones anywhere else.

I can't believe Firefox doesn't have a simple toggle within it's own software. It needs one now.

i have opened my account on firefox and it has a very old version of my bookmarks, i have logged in to the same account on both computers and it isn't showing up on the new one

How can I retrieve password and usernames that are saved in the login forms of visited websites ?

I know how to see "password and login" in Mozilla settings (Private life & Security / Saved Passwords).

But on some websites, the connection to my account is automatic : password and usernames are saved in the login forms (like cookies may be ?), and they are not present in Mozilla setting and Saved Passwords.

I didn't find anything in the web on my request.

Is it possible te recover this recorded data ?

I have just replaced my PC after the old one decided not to connect to the net & performed a backup of just about everything. Tried to restore Firefox backup & it's asking for a password when I didn't create one! I've tried the Firefox sign in password but that was rejected - any ideas anyone? Thanks

I often use Firefox to read PDF, but whenever I add highlight to it doesn't save it to the same file but rather as to save a copy of file which is very annoying I end up with two version of same file I am reading and it because very irritating, how do I make it to update the file which was open rather than saving a new copy.

I am currently unable to clear my browsing history, this started about a week ago. I had done it that morning but after lunch I was able to . I note that library is showing history going back to Dec last.

ok when I up date my lap top and it is time to go pay my bill I have to verify who I am they do not recognize me????? It' a pain in the ass...... I have to get pass numbers etc. to prove who I am. M. Rivero

There was a recent update from Firefox, I began setting up a new profile but didn't want to continue. Now, almost no websites will download, nothing but tab crashed and it won't restore.

Recently when starting the browser I've seen that Microsoft Defender blocks requests to one of my homepage shortcuts, due to it finding the URL suspicious. My question is as the title suggests: does Firefox ping the URLs or fetch metadata of said domains automatically/in the background to update the icons, website title, etc? It is always suspicious to find Microsoft Defender stating it blocks request to websites I haven't accessed in a while. So I'm trying to deduce if it is a feature and not a ghost in the wires...
