As of a week or two ago I can no longer save URLs to bookmarks folders in my bookmarks toolbar. I can drag and drop it but nothing happens, does not save in that folder. Neither can I save a URL via clicking on the star then choosing a folder. Doesn't stick in the folder. How can I fix this.

Hi When I'm watching videos on Firefox especially while on YouTube, the whole browser turns white for a few seconds. It sometimes pauses the whole video but almost every time the audio is still playing and I can't see the video. I looked at other similar problems but turning on and off hardware acceleration does nothing. I have the latest GPU drivers and I'm using a laptop.

I'm having an issue where PDF files I download are blurry when I zoom in on them in Firefox, but when I use, for example, Edge, it zooms in fine. I've tried reinstalling Firefox, but it didn't make any difference. It happens to all PDFs I've tried.

My Firefox account is synchronized across my personal devices and my work laptop. This has been working fine for a while, until today I got an error on my work laptop that "Using an older version of Firefox can corrupt bookmarks and browsing history already saved to an existing Firefox profile". I suppose this is because it's using version 102.12.0esr, whereas my PC uses version 114.0.

My workplace won't let me just install the normal version of Firefox.

So in my search for a solution, my first hope is that someone can provide some magic solution, maybe?

If there is no such thing, I'd like to know if there's an esr version right around the corner that will fix this?

In the event that I'm all outta luck, what I'd like to be able to do is try to disconnect my profile on the laptop from synchronization, and then force it to open, hopefully it will work and then I won't have synchronization anymore but at least I'll have my profile as it currently is. Can someone tell me how to do this, if it's possible?

What I absolutely want to avoid at all costs is to manually rebuild my profile. Restoring all my settings, including those hidden in about:config, and all my extensions' settings by hand is going to be a nightmare.

I'm on the latest non-beta version of Firefox on my PC, but my problem has been happening for over a month now. Whenever I add a new bookmark, Firefox has started remembering the last folder I saved a bookmark into. That's not really a helpful feature but, worse still, it doesn't actually save the bookmark into that folder but saves it into Bookmarks Menu instead. I then have to add the bookmark again and choose the folder I want to save it into, as on the second attempt it defaults to Bookmarks Menu as the location. Sometimes the new bookmark remains in the Bookmarks Menu after the second save regardless of what other folder I select. I haven't checked to see if the bookmarks are being duplicated in that scenario.

I've been assuming that this was a bug and have been expecting it to be fixed, but there have been several new releases of Firefox since I started having the problem and it still remains. Moreover, I can't find anything online to suggest that other people are having the same issue, which makes me think it's something to do with my system.

I'd be grateful for any assistance you can provide please.

Hello, I'd like some help with a performance issue. Basically, when using the theme "Pixel-Punk" while playing a video, ram usage by the GPU slowly increases. It increases until it reaches 8GB, where Firefox will soft crash, displaying a white screen. Firefox will be reloaded, with the animated banner portion in Firefox usually disabled or flickering on and off. The GPU item in the process manager also disappears and ram usage no longer increases. The slow nature of the problem makes it hard to diagnose but I'm fairly certain it's due to this theme. The problem doesn't appear with it off, or even on, until I start watching a YouTube video, where ram usage will slowly increase. If I disable the theme ram usage stops increasing but doesn't decrease to it's previous state. I've also tried refreshing Firefox but that didn't help. Also, I don't have an option for hardware acceleration so I can't troubleshoot that option. I've asked the Firefox subreddit and I was guided to the profiler, but that's a little over my head. Is there a way to fix this? I quite like this theme, and I haven't seen any complaints in the reviews. There are also lots of variables, like the extensions I have, my hardware configuration and such. my hardware for info: laptop - Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen 7 (2022) CPU- 12700H RAM- 16GB GPU- 3070ti

How can I install an add-on while using the MITM proxy?

Dear Team,

I'm using version 114.0 (64 bits) with Eset Internet Security 16.1.14.0 installed on a Windows 10 machine 22H2 Build 19045.2965. I have refreshed Firefox from previous version yesterday (06/06/2023) (it asked me to restart the browser). Since then I cannot load any page (not even the about:crashes or settings or passwords, or any website). All pages keep on crashing, the reports are not generated nor sent to support. I have tried to locate the crash reports under APPDATA, but none being generated. I also tried to disable my anti-virus software thinking it may cause an issue, but still no luck. The same happens in Safe mode as well. Tried clean install as well, but again the same thing happens.

There are many mainstream websites that have stopped functioning in firefox that work perfectly fine when switching over to brave and enabling scripts

these are not obscure sites, they are sites for privacy protecting entities hence the lack of function on firefox is perplexing

how do we make these sites work in firefox again to save the switching to brave?

I get these updates just to stop the annoying side popup/down. But what I get usually is no use to me and my browsing. What it seems to me is most update's "Fixes" are just for the dudes that keep playing with/building on the browser and screwing it up.

Plus I don't get to see WHAT the new update fixes are UNTIL I've downloaded the update.
 I sure wish that you...someone.... puts the option BACK IN where a person can stop/ignore updates....COMPLETELY! 
With the last 2 or 3 updates it seems... for my use of the browser... makes it a hell of a lot SLOWER. And a ton more pauses and crashes.  
Firefox was a great browser 10 years ago but with all these geeks playing with it and trying to make it ONLY to suit his/her needs is making it a pain.

I'm amazed, just AMAZED I can't find the answer to this with a simple google search, or searching the questions here, and I re-worded my search several times. All the answers I could find, even chatGPT (I know it's not alway sup to date) told me to use this option even though I specifically told it it wasn't there, is anyone aware that sometimes the option isn't there? What gives? Not blaming anyone specifically, but this a really simple question, I'm I the first person it's ever happened to?

I'm trying to fix a sound problem where videos will not play, and this is a suggested step. The sound on youtube videos plays with Google Chrome, so it's not my sound drivers, just with firefox it doesn't play. One of the steps as well was the clear my info, I cleared everything except history, I wished there was a way to back those up, I'll look it up.

Starting firefox in safe mode doesn't fix the problem either.

I often restore tabs and browser sessions using the Tab Session Manager addon, with lazy loading and the discarded property enabled.

This loads tabs quickly with their favicons, but sometimes it fails to load certain tabs and loads new tab pages in their place instead which gets really frustrating. I could turn off the discarded property, but then it loads the page again and adds an entry to my browsing history which I don't want, it doesn't when the property is on. If I turn it off entirely then all the tabs would load, and too many at once would lag my computer.

Sometimes though, Firefox just doesn't load favicons and I want to load them manually. I'd like a way to load the favicon for a tab without loading the whole page.

I constantly get logged out of ESPN on Firefox. Doesn't happen on any other browser using the same plugins. It's inexcusable for this issue to persist for nearly 6 months now. The worst part is that I can't log back in. The "Log In" button won't work and I'll have to sign all the way out of ESPN+ just the sign back in. It's happened 26 times this year. Firefox is getting worse by the day.

Hello, Sometimes i get random "lag" this lag then continues for some time and maybe stops, i cant even play a Youtube video even that is lagging or scrolling a webpage. I tried a few things but i don't know what i should try next.

On start up this morning, Firefox was gone from taskbar. I found ff eventually but all my bookmarks and history are gone. Can I recover them? Why did this happen? Also missing home button

I use mozilla on two machines. They both have gotten to where they lock up when trying to access a second page. The normal place they lockup is "waiting nexusensighten.com". I talked with etrade and they had me try MS edge. It works without a problem. I've started having the same problem with yahoo mail.

I deleted cache and cookies numerous time. Etrade guy had me just type etrade.com to get started. It didn't help.

I update automatically. Thanks for your help.

like the title says, i installed the latest Firefox update and my graphics driver started crashing every few minutes. tried updating my graphics card driver (Nvidia RTX3070) and tried to set the browser to software rendering, but nothing helps, it keeps going black and restart every few minutes.

There really should be a option to revert from a update, i had this a lot with Firefox, troubles after updates. And with no way to fix it, so i have to use another browser until it is fixed..kinda troublesome.
