When I logged into my laptop on 9th November Firefox had closed. This happens sometimes, I'm often not sure why, but this time the previous session didn't automatically repopulate when I restarted. I navigated to the history options with the idea of retoring the previous session - either using that functionality or individually opening previous windows - but history was blank and the previous windows option was greyed out. Following suggestions online I've looked for .bak or .json or similar files to use as restore points but there's nothing since much earlier in the year up to 8th November, which are pretty much empty, and the 9th.

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions!

Firefox, when moved, opens in full screen. I've seen the info about hovering over the green button and choosing the correct mode, which doesn't seem to exist. There also seems a key command of Command-Control- (something), that doesn't work. Both of these strategies cause the problem to occur, again. Help? I'm on 132.02/Mac Sequoia. I'm getting the following with some websites since the most recent firefox update. It happens with outlook mail, facebook and my bank (and others) all of which I would expect to be up to date.. Secure Connection Failed

I keep experiencing this problem with different websites: Safari works, Firefox doesn't.

Sample: I turned out the enhanced tracking protection, Privacy is set to Standard for

I entered valid license numbers (230880, 239798). Firefox displays NOTHING, no error message. Safari displays the relevant info.

Why is this and what should I do if I want to continue using Firefox? Thanks.

I think browsers should slow down their release cycle and release secure and debugged software. Take the time to fuzz, use static and dynamic security checkers. Maybe a release every 3 months. I am tired of re-imaging and switching between browsers to escape hackers.

I am using Multi-Account Containers, i have 3 pinned tabs all three are Gmail all three different. However when I restart my box and open Firefox again the pinned tabs show up BUT 3 new tabs appear asking me if i want to "Open this site in your assigned Container?". The pinned tabs are blank. If i click "Open in [container name] container" it will open in that new unpinned tab and not the pinned tab. This leads me to have to close my pinned tabs and re-pin each time. Please tell me I am doing something wrong and there is a way out of this madness!!!

Anysearchmanager (ASM) now appears as my search engine when I log on even though duckduckgo is still designated as my default in Firefox. At no time have I elected to use the unsecure ASM. It does not appear in my applications folder and I can't get to it via disable/delete extensions in Firefox. I can still access duckduckgo if I manually override ASM, but that is a pain. And ASM does not show up on Malwarebytes scans.

How can I purge ASM?

at night when I'm through using the computer, my yahoo email is left open on firefox. that's the only window open. in the morning when I return to the PC, my email window is closed. I have to reopen firefox.

if I do the same with Chrome, the yahoo email window is right there when I open the PC.

is their a way of checking why and how firefox closes some time during the night.

I am running Firefox 132.0.2 on Pop_OS, using Gnome. I have a dual monitor setup, with my leftmost monitor being a 1080p set as portrait, and my main being a 4K set as landscape.

Every time I open Firefox, the window is exactly 1080 pixels large, no matter what I do. I can of course resize it, but it's frustrating having to do that every time.

If I tell Gnome that my secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side of my primary, everything works perfectly: Firefox stays the size it is when I close it.

It seems that Firefox uses my leftmost monitor's size to determine the maximum windows width, and even overwrites my xulsettings.json every time I close it.

I tried different builds, and even different forks suck as librewolf: no difference. I can´t of course change the position of how my monitors are placed on my desk.

Any ideas?

When watching a video or a stream if i close the lid of my macbook the video is not paused and when i open it a few minutes/hours laters it will try to resume the video or stream but it's buggy since the macbook entered sleep mode when the lid is closed

How can i force Firefox to pause the video when the lid is closed ?

It's annoying to have a buggy video and sound when opening the macbook because i've closed it on an playing video or stream

On my new laptop I can not see the bookmark menu bar on the left side of the screen. Please help!!

Also, I have trued importing my bookmarks from an html file from my old laptop and that hasn't worked either.

This week, November 2024, I suddenly can't connect to anything mozilla. I received a notice about an update but it wouldn't work. I deleted and reinstalled mozilla (Firefox) and I still can't plus I can't add on any Extensions or anything mozilla related. My other search engines are working fine. Did something go wonky when they did a recent update or what and how do I fix this?

Is there any way to recover my bookmarks and tabs? Everything gone when I logged into my 2017 iMac Ventura 13.7.1. THis happened a few years ago as well. For Command Shift T - what needs to be "open" when i try this? Technically deficient, I am.
