Note that it usually takes a week (alongside with first Firefox 19 beta) until Aurora updates to the next major release (20.0a2) when a new Firefox version is released.

I am getting notices to update my Mozilla Aurora frequently which are always trapped by my virus protection (Trend Platinum) with the warning that the update site is on the virus list and has caused problems.

The link provided is not obviously from Mozilla and I have not clicked it. But it continues to pop up.

Is this a legitimate request from Mozilla Firefox Aurora to update?

Here is the first part of the URL I get: http://secure.Oi-installer9.com/ca17076f842b111ea66636.........

I repeat, I have NOT attempted to go to the link... But the whole page looks quite legitimate.

If not legitimate, is there a way to trap and remove the pop-up?

Thanks...

No, of course that isn't a link to an official Mozilla website those would end with a mozilla.org domain.

Did you download the Aurora version from the Mozilla website or don't you have Aurora installed at all like you should if you are not a tester?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

If you still want to test Aurora channel (currently has 24.0a2) you should download from the mozilla.org link as mentioned.

Note that unlike with the Release builds and the Beta channel which usually get about 6-7 beta updates for each new version, the more unstable Aurora and Nightly channels (currently has 24.0a2 and 25.0a1) usually get checkins every day so therefore they get a update each of those days.
