can't see images in emails or on websites with firefox 7

more options

I updated FF and since then I can't see images in my email as well as on some websites. I also have to reload some websites because they hang up and won't load at all. Also, Java isn't compatible with the newest FF update...what can I do to make it compatible?

One thing that is odd...on the emails...I can see the images when I click 'reply'....but I truly don't want to read my email in reply mode.

FYI...Adobe Flash and Java are up to date.

The Java plugin that you see in "Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" is used to run Java applets.
You only need the Java Console extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) if you want to check and debug Java applets.
Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

I checked everything and the images are not blocked. I took a couple of screen shots...one of my email and one of a website to show you what I am talking about. As you can see...on the email the images show in the download area but not on the body of the email itself...and on the website there are some images...but not all of them are showing. This only started after I upgraded to Firefox 7....I did not have the issue previously. I tried to roll back to the previous Firefox but it isn't compatible with some add-ons that I use anymore.

That missing image on the left of the www.jcpenny site is a Flash object.

Do you see a Flash player loaded when you right-click in that empty area?

Do you otherwise have problems with Flash?

I'm not seeing any extensions installed that block Flash, but you can still give it a try with Firefox Save mode. Also make sure that your security software (firewall) isn't blocking Flash.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I don't have any themes running. Flash is up to date and working perfectly. I play games using flash and don't have any issues at all. I restarted FF in safe mode and looked at the email again....still no pics. AHHHHHHHHHHH. This is so frustrating!!!!! I'm sorry...I don't mean to be any kind of trouble. =/
