Hello alanbo,

You can set your homepage to anything you like - you open the page(s) you want to be your homepage, go to Options => Home and click "Use Current Pages".

Setting the homepage to a local file shouldn't be a problem. I don't know how you can use a slide show (rotating images) as this would involve JavaScript.

You can only set the new tab page to a website (http or https) and not to locally stored files. New Tab Override can possibly use a workaround and store the page in its own storage.
