"Thunderbird has stopped working" immediately upon starting

It used to work but suddenly works no more after a few days. Upon starting the application immediately there's a message "thunderbird has stopped working". The options are close the program or check for a solution first. The "view problem details" shows the following:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, doesn't make any difference.
