This is not an error report, nor a bug. I am just (awfully) curious to know what the deal is with Thunderbird inside the Mozilla suite of applications.

I have used Tb exclusively on various platforms with different OSes for many years now. Tb used to be featured as prominently as Firefox on the front page of mozilla.org. Now one has to dig in to be able to find it. Also there are no articles except for "What's new in Thunderbird 31.0 ?" in the help section.

Is Mozilla planning to spin Thunderbird off ? Is support ended or on the verge of being so ? Am I overreading in this ?

Thunderbird is no longer activly developed by Mozilla. It is run by a Mozilla community. The support has been moved to within this section and forum.

There are many help articles, although may not be as easy to find because they are buried within the many hundreds of other help articles, and this site's search and browsing facilities are not exactly award winning.
