Suddenly today we open Firefox but when we try to type in an address or something into the search box FF just hangs remaining unresponsive. The keystrokes do not appear in either place and FF greys out with the hourglass appearing. We are able to launch links from bookmarks and use IE (as well as all other apps) successfully. We've worked through all the troubleshooting tips on Mozilla.com including a full uninstall and reinstall. Any ideas or suggestions? We really prefer FF over IE.

Did you try the suggestions in Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems, including restarting the computer and clearing cookies and cache?

You can also try clearing all of your history: In Firefox, click on "Tools -> Clear Recent History", select "Everything" for the time period and checkmark all history items ( Browsing & Download history, Form & Search history, etc,) in the "Clear Recent History" details list, as explained here: Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox

If that doesn't help, try the rest of the Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems steps.

As stated in our original post we have completed all troubleshooting steps including a full uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for the reply though.
