Okay. It's 2024 and after reading very stale suggestions for editing code I'm left wondering what mindset within the TB development community thinks the default of vertical lines applied during an email exchange is desired by most users? Is it really that difficult to have the default be NO lines with an easily selected option to use lines if desired? Seems like it'd be a sought after option.

Actually, this is rarely requested. The vertical lines (or > character) are used throughout internet email exchanges. BUT, if you use the replywithheader addon, I believe it will do what you wish.
