Hello,

The latest upgrade from firefox this week (96) has prevented us from logging into our local credit union account. We had to downgrade to 95.0.2 to regain access. How can you fix this and will it be resolved in a following update. Is there a setting that can be changed that is preventing login?

There is a change in Firefox 96 related to cookies and insecure sites.

As a workaround for now you can modify this pref on the about:config page to revert this change.

  • about:config => network.cookie.sameSite.laxByDefault = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".

DISCLAIMER: modifying prefs directly via the about:config page is not officially supported and there is no guarantee that this will keep working in future releases or otherwise "breaks" Firefox.

Sorry I cannot make sense out of the response. Not a very sophisticated user.

Chase.com does not recognize Firefox 96 as valid, says it is "outdated software".

The new Firefox version is causing other problems for me too. I don't want to load it on my other computers. The endless numbers of things being flagged as dangerous cookies. This is nuts....

I hope I don't need to change browsers.

Hi Gregory FW Todd

Could you please create a new thread for your question.

Do you possibly have Avast/AVG Anti-Track software as that might have modified the user agent by appending a random string ?

You can check out at the browserspy website how websites see you:
