Firefox ESR 68.9.0 does not work correctly with Windows 7 Start Menu Search the Internet Feature

I recently noticed that the Windows 7 feature of searching the internet directly from the start menu (via policy and explained here does not work any longer. The search string is not pasted into the seach box. The feature still works with Chrome 83, so it is safe to assume it's not an OS issue.

Hi tinmanjk,

unfortunately microsoft choose to lock out third-party browsers/search-engines from that functionality. there is no easy workaround for this that could be implemented by firefox :-/ http://www.ghacks.net/2016/04/29/microsoft-blocks-search-engines-windows-10/

Hope it helps. Thank You.

Shashank - I appreciate your response. However, I am using Windows 7, not 10.

But Windows 7 and Windows 10 both are the products of same company Microsoft. So in my opinion they both have same policy.
