Saw warning from Amazon via Consumer Reports that Honey Add-on is a security risk, or is Amazon being hateful towards a competitor?

I received a newsletter with this link: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/10/amazon-says-uninstall-honey-which-paypal-just-paid-4-million-for.html. I have used Honey add-on for a while now and don't think it would be a risk since Firefox makes it available, so this may just be Amazon being a bully. But I have to ask just in case, is Honey a risk to use?
