Upon attempting to start firefox.exe, the process appears in the task manager for about a second, and then closes. A reboot has been attempted, but to no avail. A relevant support article has been consulted prior to the making of this post. This has happened after successful updates from Firefox and Windows, and numerous forced shut-downs following shortly after due to power outages. Would gladly post pertinent diagnostic files such as .evtx files captured not long after the problem started occuring, along with a .wer error file relevant to the app crash.

I may be missing some details, but they will come to me later. Thank you for your time.

Edit: I have uploaded the error logs here. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iOJR1WcwS7JWmpWBnnQwMGCJ3yd4khfQ

No one should have to use Google Chrome, we're almost in 2019, folks.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

Do Not remove any profile folders.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

I was hoping that it wouldn't come to that, but a clean reinstall did the trick. Thank you, Fred.

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.

When a computer loses power without shutting down, files can be corrupted. It's best to re-install any program giving you problems.
