FF health report shows 13 extensions but I only have 5.Could this be a reason why my FF is using so much ram?

Hi FF version 55.0.3 is using an excessive amount of ram on my iMac (7 of the 8GB) & my iMac has slowed down considerably.I've tried making adjustments in about:config & did a fresh install but nothing has helped. I checked the health report & it claims that I am using 13 extensions when i am only using 5.I thought this could be the issue as extensions can use up ram but I disabled all 5 extensions & it's still using allot of ram.Why would it show 13 extensions when I'm only using 5,could this be the reason why it's using so much ram? Thnx

Before panicking, check the Troubleshooting Information page and count the number of "Firefox Features" listed in the table above "Extensions." The Health Report counts the extensions that create those features even though other parts of Firefox's interface do not show them as extensions.

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Scroll down past the Basic Information table...

Unfortunately, this table doesn't show when one of the feature-extensions is disabled and therefore not counted on the Health Report. For example, I disabled Pocket and there's no way to see that on this page in Firefox 55. (Disable or re-enable Pocket for Firefox)

Also, more generally, there is this help article, in case you didn't already work through it: Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix.

In my experience, scrolling through the Facebook news feed uses a ton of memory, because Firefox feels the need to keep all of the text and a lot of the media from the page in memory as long as the tab is open, and it just keeps fetching more and more...
