Hello! I have Firefox set to 'show my windows and tabs from last time' with around 12 tabs open. Once I start Firefox, it loads all the tabs, but when selecting the tabs it refreshes the tab which is quite annoying.

I originally was using Firefox and moved to Chrome, then moved back because Chrome has been really glitchy lately.

One thing I liked about Chrome was that once you start it up, it loads all your tabs and when you select the tab(s), it is instantly ready and doesn't have to refresh the tab.

I searched everywhere and could not find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a setting in Options/Preferences > General.

  • Tools > Options > General > Tabs: [X] "Don’t load tabs until selected"

There are these prefs for normal and pinned tabs that you can inspect and modify on the about:config page.

browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand
browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
