words added to custom dictionary do not show up when next use spell check

If I add a word to my custom dictionary, when that word is checked again (say later in a document), spell checker does not list the custom word in the list of suggestions. Using firefox 38.0.5.

I don't have that problem. I use dictionaries from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/language-tools

Words that you add via "Add to Dictionary" if you right-click a spelling error won't show as suggestions AFAIK and are only meant to prevent such words from getting underlined as errors. Only words in the selected dictionary show as suggestions.

  • bug 338291 - Words added to the personal dictionary are not suggested for misspelled words
