ICONS ARE WHITE IN WINDOWS 7
All of the FIREFOX ICONS on my desktop are WHITE blocks, not FIREFOX ICONS. If I "change" them to IE or CHROME, I got those icons just fine, but NOT FIREFOX.
I've tried the suggestions for REGISTRY EDITS, deleting the ICON cache and yet nothing works.
I don't think you can blame this on ADP.
Thanks,

You can check for issues with the Windows icon cache and try to rebuild the icon cache.
- Open the Task Manager (Shift+Ctrl+ESC)
- In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
- Open the file picker via "File > New Task (Run)" and click the Browse button.
- Type or Paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local (%LocalAppData%) in the File name field (AppData is a hidden folder).
- Select the IconCache.db file and use "Delete" in the right-click context menu to delete the file.
- After the IconCache.db file has been deleted, start a new explorer.exe process via "File > New Task" to get the desktop and Taskbar back.
The IconCache.db file is a hidden file, so make sure that you can see hidden files.
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried your instructions but when I pasted the %USERPROFILE..........Data%) it said no file exists.
Earlier today, I remember deleting a ICON CACHE-type file. If I search for ICONCACHE.db, it doesn't show up.
I went right to that folder (as I do for other reasons many times) and the ICONCACHE.db file, again, is not there.
If I search *.db, the only thing that comes up is a metafile.db
Thanks,
NORM
Did you look here for the file?
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local
The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7/8 versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.

HI: I tried both methods and in both cases found the icon file, deleted it and restarted the computer, but no luck.
Doesn't work with FF but does with other browsers, per attachments.
Thanks.
Stumped.
