Facebook videos in Firefox stop playing when clicking the Windows 11 Start button or opening Solitaire (after recent update)

This issue has just started after a Windows 11 update and restart. It has never happened before. I usually watch Facebook Reels while playing Solitaire at the same time — yes, I know, I don’t have a life.

This morning, after the update and restart, I opened Facebook and started watching a Reel as normal. As soon as I clicked the Windows Start button to open the list of programs, the video stopped. I then selected Solitaire, which opened to the taskbar. I restarted the video, clicked Solitaire to open the game fully, and the video stopped again. As soon as I minimize Solitaire, the video resumes playing.

I’ve tried all the suggestions I could find via Google, but nothing has worked so far. Note that this only affects videos playing directly on Facebook — videos playing in the Windows Media Player Legacy video player itself are not affected.

More info... I run two monitors and it seem if I click on whatever I have open in the second monitor the FB video stops. So something has changed after I turned my computer on this morning and updated Windows. I even did a System Restore to a setting two days before this new update and nothing changed still have the problem.

I’m experiencing consistent crashes of the plugin widevinecdm.dll whenever I try to play DRM-protected content (for example, streaming platforms that use Widevine). Every time playback starts, Firefox crashes and the crash reports show errors related to widevinecdm.dll, specifically: EXCEPTION_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN FAST_FAIL_CONTROL_INVALID_RETURN_ADDRESS.

In such instances, Firefox keeps working normally. The tab doesn't even crash, it's just the player not responding and the message above telling me that the plugin has crashed. I have already sent multiple crash reports, the last one you can find it here on the Mozilla Crash Stats platform.

Does anyone know how this can be solved? I literally cannot use any subscription service anymore.

How can I or can I lock my desktop so that only tiles I select appear and do not change unless I change them? I have recommended stories turned off in settings and seemingly every site I visit and article I read shows up on my desktop to replace something I actually want on my desktop.

I cannot open the msn site , on my Win11 desktop using Firefox.

which is not down and opens in the Google browser. What can I check , this has happened off and on but is now broken this week. The msn.com site does open , but clicking on the weather tab still fails.

I want shortcuts, but not the ones I visit, just the ones I save. Is there a way to make it just the ones I save, or I have to have both. If I must have both, please make it so that its separate.

every time i launch Firefox, I get the banner prompting me to log in to network so i can access to the internet, i don´t understand it , cos I see that I am both logged in and connected to the net ?

I lost my entire browser (bookmarks, extensions, accounts) by opening firefox twice. Whilst firefox was opening (very slowly due to my wifi) i opened it again, thinking it may have crashed, next time i opened it my entire browser was gone. How can i recover my data?

While I like to have shortcuts for sites that I visit frequently (Amazon, eBay, bank, etc.), I don't like the fact that a recently visited site shows up among the four rows of my shortcuts every time I log in and go to my shortcuts. (My computer defaults to these shortcuts when I open up Firefox). Something new that wasn't previously there. I'm like, "okay, that's not something that I put there myself". Something that I didn't SAVE as a shortcut myself. It wasn't like this on my old computer. I had just the frequent sites that I WANTED to show on my shortcuts, not a new icon for a site I've visited recently. I unchecked the "Shortcuts" box in settings and sure enough, ALL my shortcuts disappeared. Had to recheck the box.

Am I missing something here? Why can't I have only the shortcuts that I want on those four rows and not have an icon for a recently visited site just add itself to my shortcuts? Just because I visit any particular site (whether one of my shortcuts or not) doesn't necessarily mean that once I leave that site, that I want it to show up in my shortcuts with a slightly different looking icon from my regular shortcuts, basically duplicating what I already have, but needlessly adding something that I didn't ask to save? For example, if I open up Yahoo to check mail, despite already having a shortcut with the Yahoo icon, the next time that I turn on my computer, I'll have a slightly different Yahoo icon that might now show "log in", as well. Ditto with other shortcut icons.

I hope all this makes sense. Can anyone explain to me how to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Firefox is blocking access to my yahoo mail trash and spam folders. The message says SSL_ERROR_RECORD_TOO_LONG. It refers to cow.hunt.forenenst.com as the problem. It says to contact the website. Does that mean cow.hunt... or should I contact Yahoo? Can Mozilla/Firefox help me? Should I try using Safari to access my Yahoo mail account? Should I contact Apple Support? Do I need to install some antimalware?
