Good day, Last update of Firefox "131.0.2", I faced an issue mentioned in the attached below. Lines of text or numbers are overlayed over each other. I downgraded to Firefox "128.3.1esr" and the problem is resolved. Now I'm staying on the older version till the issue is resolved. For seemingly no reason at all - suddenly no menu opens - even if I select text and right mouseclick - nothing! Clicking on folder - nothing. Clicking any menu - nothing. BUT it actually opens! It just does not show! For example, if click on Tools, then it will be dark. If I move the mouse down where should be the first thing in the menu "Downloads" then it is actually there, Downloads opens. So what is this? I need a fix, fast. This is my main browser and I have 8500 tabs. So no "reinstall" is not an option. I even had to make this post in another browser because I can not use the "Which topic best describes your question?" dropdown - it does not show!

I have an external monitor connected to my HP laptop. The display on the monitor is fine for all applications except Firefox. The text is readable, but distorted. Is there some setting I need to change?

I have a brand new HP Spectre laptop. I have had Firefox running on it and it has been fine for about 6 months.

Now, all of a sudden, when I click on the desktop short cut, it does not open Firefox but, rather takes me to duck duck go which opens the following website

I can not get rid of it, I can not by bypass it, and Firefox is no longer available to me on my laptop.

When opening AI Chatbot sidebar with ChatGPT and trying to login, after entering email the site says: "Something went wrong while getting your SSO info".

It often happens with ChatGPT but usually I resolve this issue by adding "0" in the URL: https://auth.openai.com/ -> https://auth0.openai.com/ and this resolves the issue. However in case of sidebar I cannot add this 0, so cannot login...

I think I know the answer to this question already, because all my searches come up empty, but is there a way to show the count of blocked elements on the shield icon? Obviously you can click on the shield itself and see, but I'd much prefer to display the info live similar to how uBO, AdGuard, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, Disconnect, et al do it.

If that ability isn't available yet, is there an official method to put in a feature request? I doubt I'd be the first one making the request, but perhaps I can add a vote for it to become a reality. ETP has to be about 10 years old at this point, it's surprising that option wasn't added a long time ago.

Wireless cursor just gone after this last update. Changed the battery and all the usual tap, blow on it, no luck. Purchased a new mouse from amazon and no improvement. I found an article to fix this but cannot find what they refer to or understand the names used. I am just there saying, the what? go were?

I'm getting "Too Many Requests" error message this morning when I try to login to MS Outlook. My OS is Windows and I run Proton VPN.

NOTE: I do not GET this error when I use the DuckDuckGo browser to login to Outlook.

Upon reboot, all my previously open windows are all clustered in one window. They need only to be each individually dragged to an unoccupied "mini-desktop" at the top of my screen. This is far preferable to having to repopulate several additional interest-specific windows after each reboot.

I updated to the latest Firefox 131.0.2 on 10-9-24. After using Firefox to view the digital version of Startribune.com issue, I was able to view the front page but was unable to scroll down or up on the page using my touchpad. I was able to scroll after enlarging the size by one click, but after clicking to turn to the next page, the size button returned to the initial size and did not permit scrolling without resizing the screen with one click to the right. So I can turn the page, but have to resize each page in order to scroll down. So, until Firefox is once again functional enough to enable reading digital version (scrolling and turning the page without resizing) of my local paper, I will use Safari which is completely functional. Since you added some sort of new protection I did something I don't know what but I am close to changing browsers, using Safari half the time. I'd like to stay but I have to go through a whole riggaroll to sign in to sites now.

I need to save my downloads in various different folders - sometimes its a research paper, or music score, or an image and all this could go into folders for different projects. For this reason I always have "ask where to save file" enabled in the settings.

However, with that enabled, Firefox proposes some silly random folder instead of the last one used. Sometimes I have to save maybe a dozen pdfs in the same folder and Firefox proposes some rubbish random folder the first time, I change to the one I need, I save a couple of files into that folder and suddenly Firefox changes again the folder it proposes. This is so incredibly annoying. Why would they do that? But more importantly is there a way to make it just come up with the latest folder always instead? Why is this not something that can be changed directly where the "Ask where to save files" option is in the settings? Is there a good place to tell Firefox developers who utterly useless and time-wasting and annoying that behavior is?

I have Norton installed, which might be the problem, or maybe not. Computer is a MacBook Air, but the same problem happens on my desktop iMac, which also has Norton protection. Problem is trouble connecting almost every time I want to go to a new website. The internet IS working and computer IS connected to internet. But Server is 'not found' according to this frequent msg:

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at www.google.com.

If you entered the right address, you can:

   Try again later
   Check your network connection
   Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)

I have always used Firefox to access my emails at https://sso.secureserver.net/?app=email&realm=pass&plid=587240 The new update does not show my emails, just shows a continuing turning circle with a blank page. I can access my emails through Chrome with no problem.

Soon after installing Ubuntu 24.04 LTS freshly into my laptop I followed standard configurations to set my graphics card as the primary display renderer for my machine.

This is done by setting the environment variable DRI_PRIME=1 in my .profile file and rebooting.

I also made the following settings to Firefox's about:config

         layers.acceleration.force-enabled               true

        gfx.webrender.all                                           true

After reboot I get a lot of flicker on Firefox and a lesser amount on Thunderbird. The image below flickers on and off the screen for 1-4 seconds.

No such flickering occurs on Chrome browser.

Is there any way to fix this flickering ?

when i am downloading firefox on my m2 macbook air it is always downloading the 64-bit version instead of the arm version. i also tried installing through brew and no luck. i also tried all the firefox files and tried new install no luck.plz help??btw i am running macos sequoia beta 15.1

There has been an upgrade of Firefox ESR to version 128.3 on Debian 12 bookworm.

Before the update, I could play videos, now I can't.

I precise I can play videos on Chromium, or with the video players.

I have libavcodec58, libavcodec-extra59, ffmpeg 5.1.6 packages installed.

There is an error in the console: Media resource xxx.webm could not be decoded. Specified “type” attribute of “video/mp4” is not supported. Load of media resource xxx.mp4 failed.

This command seems to indicate the session is X11 and not Wayland: ``` loginctl show-session 1 -p Type Type=x11 ```

hello. i have a problem with times displayed by firefox on my linux box. for some reason firefox seems to think that i'm in or near reykjavik in iceland, and i can't find out why.

the following ONLY applies to firefox on my linux box, but not to other browsers on the same machine or to firefox on android: - when i connect to my home assistant server and go into my personal settings, under time zone it offers me to options: server time zone (europe/london) which is correct or "local" time zone (atlantic/reykjavik) which is WRONG. i'm in the london timezone, so why does firefox think i'm in iceland? - in youtube, firefox tells me that live streams and premieres start an hour earlier than they actually do. like today there is a live stream that starts at 12:35 but firefox tells me it starts at 11:35. no bueno! so why does firefox do this? what setting got screwed up, and how can i fix it?

like i said above, only firefox on my linux box does this, in other browsers and on other platforms it does not happen. that tells me it is a firefox issue.
