How do I remove the orange Firefox button and page description? I have the Menu bar showing and thought this would hide the button.

The description of the page I am on (tab I am on) is duplicated on the same line after the orange Firefox button on the top line and is unnecessarily using up real estate on the top of the page

Normally you either have the orange "Firefox" button or you have the classic menu bar. The choice is made by using:

Alt+v (opens the View menu) > Toolbars > Menu Bar

It's very strange that you would have both. Are you using a custom style rule or add-on to get that effect?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
