Hi Mike, you can add the Home toolbar button from the box of available buttons on the Customize tab. Let us know whether you find that, and the other things you're missing:

the customize selection is missing it is not under more tools, therefore I can not add the home symbol to the tool bar.

Hi mike, it's not on the Tools menu. Try one of these:

• "3-bar" menu button > More tools > Customize toolbar...
• right-click a toolbar button > Customize Toolbar...
• (menu bar) View > Toolbars > Customize Toolbar...

Note that easiest to access Customize is to right-click the "3-bar" Firefox menu button to open the context menu instead of opening this "3-bar" menu via a left-click.
