What do I need to do to get Firefox 64 to play the highlight videos on NHL.com. They play when I use MS Edge, which I don't like to use. Thanks.

Chosen solution

I don't have any add-ons or ad blockers. Just got the new 64 version 1 day ago and it is virgin install. To allow videos, I needed to click the little shield icon that appears to left of the site address. There are 3 icons there: a circled exclamation point, the shield and a lock. I clicked on the shield and then clicked temporarily allow tracking. Now, all the videos at NHL.com and TampaLightning.com will play.

Seems to be a reoccurring issue for NHL.com across all browsers: https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=firefox%20nhl%20video

Some ideas to try: • Disable any adblocking (Ghostery, uBlock Origin, etc) or script blocking addon (NoScript, etc) you might be using in Firefox or at least whitelist the entire NHL.com domain in it • Check this page regarding your HOSTS file: https://www.reddit.com/r/NHLStreams/comments/4a7ovl/why_cant_i_watch_video_from_nhlcom/ • Check this older page for other tips: https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1w3i5e/why_do_the_videos_on_nhlcom_never_load/ • And if all else fails, switch to http://www.dtmts.com/ ;)

But seriously, it sounds like NHL.com has very bad media management judging by all the complaints I've read over the years & the multiple browsers that have been affected. I'll continue to look for a more solid answer if none of the above helps since I'd love to get it working for you. :)

Ah! So I was on the right track! Thanks so much for reporting back what finally fixed the broken NHL videos. I'll spread the word to future users who have the same problem! :)
