Please can someone help me - I'm at my wits end...I will try to make this as clear as possible. I have been trying to send invoices to my customers from my accounts software (TAS books). The invoices are prepared via a word template for email then they're converted to pdf file somewhere along the line. When I try to send them from TAS (via Thunderbird) they fail. I've checked the configuration within TAS and it all seems fine but when I try a test email, it returns an error message 32002 - Unspecified Failure (which sounds like a catch all for "we haven't got a clue"!!!!) Anyway, TAS Support (who are great) have suggested that it's something within Thunderbird but they don't know what.

Also, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and have had problems with virtually every piece of software installed on my machine - could this issue be related to Wins 10????? Why has it suddenly decided not to work?

Please can someone help - I'm getting to the point where I'm going to end up handwriting letters, invoices and keeping all my contacts on index cards etc and dispensing with technology for the rest of my days....

I'm just off for a cry now while I ponder whether or not to give up on Thunderbird completely.

Thanks, Clare

What's not clear to me is how TAS tries to pass on the message with the attachment to Thunderbird. Presumably it's using MAPI. The problem is, that's a Microsoft protocol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAPI

Thunderbird only supports SimpleMAPI. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/MAPI_Support

Error 32002 is a Microsoft error code, not Thunderbird.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Aha...yes it does use MAPI. I had no idea what this actually was but had assumed that it was to do with Thunderbird. I understand a bit more now. Perhaps I should be posting this question on a MS forum??

It makes me believe even more that it's a Windows 10 issue too (it all worked fine before I upgraded!).

Not using Win10 here, but I do understand MS made it ridiculously complicated to designate an application as default application. In any case, Thunderbird needs to be the default mail application for this to work at all. So asking in a MS forum may be a good idea.

Yes, I've had endless problems since upgrading to Wins 10. It seems like everything I've had to do since upgrading has been a problem - this one being the latest! I've had to re-set so many default settings and re-install so many pieces of software that I've lost count of the hours of frustration and it has caused. I'll check out some MS forums then. Thank you for your advice.
