At seemingly random situations, Mozilla Firefox 42.0 on Windows 10 stops loading any kind of page. The loading icon keeps spinning endlessy, no matter what address is typed. This issue is only fixed when I restart the browser (simply closing and opening it again fixes).

Is there a reason for this to be happening?

Hello, everyone.

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back into this issue.

It seems the trouble I was experiencing was being caused by one of two addons: Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar and (either) Hide BookmarksBar (or) Show - Hide Bookmarks Toolbar (can't recall which one it was since I've already removed them).

It seems like one of these, or a combination of these addons was causing the non-loading issues. Since I've removed those addons, it has completely gone.

Thank you for you help.

This issue is sometimes caused by your Windows internet settings. This can sometimes be repaired by resetting the Internet Explorer options on your system. To do this, please do the following:

  1. Open the Internet Options in Windows 10
  2. Go to the Advanced tab
  3. Click the Restore advanced settings button
  4. Click the Reset..." button

Note: You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Warning: If you use Internet Explorer, do not check the Delete personal data option in step four.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

@Wesley: I've followed those steps, but the issue is still present.

@FredMcD: I'm not able to tell you 100% sure if the problem is or not there because, as I said, it is competely random. I've been using for weeks now with no problem, and it suddenly showed up on Firefox 64bit. Same thing: all pages stop loading with no apparent reason, and if I close and open the browser, everything will function normally.

Do you have NVidia’s network access manager or Forceware Network Manager software installed? Disable / remove it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/connectivity-crashing-firefox-43-update

What security software do you have?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.
