I am using Firefox 39.0. I turned the "Automatic Update" on. But despite turning it on, my Firefox do not gets updated automatically. I've to download a new version every time in order to stay updated. Please help.

Yes, Firefox 39 is the latest release version. There are Beta, Web Developer, and Nightly versions that are in the pre-release or development phase available for download, all of which have newer version numbers - 40 thru 42 currently.

The update for Firefox 39 was delayed a few days beyond the normal Tuesday release date, due to some malware issues that were found at the last minute. And the automatic update once the release happened may be "throttled" to a lower level than usual.

I get all my Firefox updates by using Help > About Firefox -> Install the update; which happened yesterday. Never got used to the "automatic" update scheme, as the update notification always seemed to appear at an inopportune moment.

Me too. I use the same process, by using Help > About Firefox -> Install the .But can you please tell me whether Firefox 39.0 is the latest version of Firefox or not?

MY PROBLEM IS SIMILAR EXCEPT IT KEEPS SAYING IT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED BUT WHEN I CHECK MANUALLY OR BRING UP THE WBESITE IT SAYS THAT IT'S UP TO DATE. IT NO LONGER AUTOMATICALLY UPDATES EITHER. SOMETHING IS BROKEN AND IT'S BEEN LIKE THIS FOR A REALLY LONG TIME, WTF IS GOING ON?! I'M ON 40.0.2 AND I ONLY ASK TO GET THE STABLE RELEASES.
