Firefox uses the chrome protocol to access basic XUL and JavaScript and CSS files and also files that are added by extensions.
The file chrome://browser/content/browser.xul is part of the Firefox application and located in the Firefox application folder in one of the .jar (ZIP) archives in the chrome folder (browser.jar).
- /chrome/browser.jar/content/browser/browser.xul
Files added by extensions are located in the extensions folder in the Firefox Profile Folder
Use your browser to open this page "chrome://browser/content/browser.xul" Right click and click "View Page Source" you will find that this xul file should be in Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/omni.jar
