Address history doesn't show all, just 12 random previous entries

Before Firefox went to 3.x, clicking the down arrow on the address bar showed all the entries (including scroll bar if necessary) since the last clearing was done. However, starting with 3.X, I only have 12 previous address showing, even though there are many more. No scroll bar, no way to access what those were. What is the reason for that? Anyway to get the scroll bar back, with access to all addresses entered since last history clearing?
