Video on ESPN.com starts, but for 3 seconds you don't see video but see audio. How to fix?

Ok, this is a new one to me. I recently started to notice that with videos at espn.com, when I press play to watch on, it will take its time loading (not out of the ordinary), then it will play for 3 seconds with no video but you can hear audio, and then video will kick in. If i fast forward back to the beginning, the video plays perfectly.

I've tried this without ublock or ghostery. still does it. tried reinstalling flash. still does it. I've tried espn.com videos in opera and chrome. still does it. i tried it on my dad's computer (win7, FF). still does it.

Its easy enough to say that this is espn.com's issue and ignore it... but.. i think its fixable. Any suggestions?

first thing noticed: espn.com videos load up perfectly in a private window.

Any suggestions anyone?

To update, I re-tested on my dad's computer. He and I both run uBlock and Ghostery.

I turned off my uBlock and Ghostery, and espn.com videos have the same behavior: first three seconds have audio but no video, then video turns on.

After turning off uBlock and Ghostery on my dad's computer, the videos loaded right up with no problem.

Again, espn.com videos play perfectly without ublock and ghostery in a Private Window.

Can anyone suggest what I could do to fix this problem?
