That could be a problem with Trusteer software.

Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now to see if that helps.

  • Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

Mac:System Preferences -> Other -> Rapport -> Stop Rapport

Make sure that you have the latest updates of your Trusteer software. You can contact Trusteer for support.

removed Trusteer Rapport from my computer and still cannot start Firefox. It says connecting but never does and then I get a crash report

Trusteer is part of your problem. This should take care of the rest;

Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files Win 7, 8, 10, Vista: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 Win XP: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/system_file_checker.mspx?mfr=true

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

Well thanks for the info but its still not working. Trusteer is not on the computer and the Sys File check said no problems. I double checked and all updates are already done. Rebooted again but still no luck. ugh

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
