Mozilla became slow to open, so I deleted so as to reload. Now when I try to reload my avira shows ad-aware/ virus being installed and recommends computer be cleaned which when I do this then the Mozilla never DL.'s ( this was on my Desk Top. ) so needles to say I have no Mozilla on it now and am forced to use Chrome or IE. which I dislike, but still I don.t need to download any more Adware to my PC either, Any suggestion, ideas?

I finally used a different site to DL from and de-activated the real time protection in AVIRA and got it done. I tried the same place the 20 min.'s ago and got the adware warning which actualy would not even let me DL at all. So we'll see what happens now? Thanks for all of the responces and help. Nothing like going to the forums for help. Thanks again.

Is the antivirus not allowing the download or not allowing the installation? What site are you using as the source of Firefox? You should get it from Mozilla. You can have the antivirus disabled while you install Firefox.

the anti virus won't allow the installation, it's not a matter of de-activating the anti-virus it's the fact that the Mozilla download has the ad aware download at all. Who needs more garbage added to their PC. As for where I was DL-ing it was the Mozilla site. I really have started to dislike IE (badly)and I'm not crazy about Chrome. Oh well ad-aware virus is here to stay I guess. :-( , Thanks for the response to my question, it's just the idea of having the anti- virus inplace to stop from Downloading this kinda of garbage and then the only way to get something like Mozilla is turn the anti-virus off. What's the point of the AV? Oh well to move on to the next B---h!

Software coming directly from Mozilla does not contain viruses. It could be a false positive from the antivirus. Have you tried a different version of Firefox? You could try the latest ESR version for awhile until the antivirus is updated.

Mozilla has never provided any releases of Firefox with any viruses or adware or such for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux versions as it would hurt Mozilla much much more than any gain from doing so.

I agree that it is likely false-positives especially if you did a recent definition update for antivirus client.
