Close firefox, try starting in

• safe mode <-- clickable link for instructions --
  by holding the shift key as you start it.
• do not make changes when you see an options window just click on continue

Does that work to start Firefox, and afterwards does it start in ordinary mode if you try restarting, if so the problem is probably solved.

Ohtherwise we may need to look into the possibility it is hanging and/or has multiple restore files.

ff opened up with the tabs I closed it with in safe mode, and again in normal mode. Just hopeit stays this way. :)

If you have problems post back again. When you stop using Firefox always try to use the option in the Firefox Button rather than say just clicking the top right or closing down Vista. Firefox is more likely to behave itself if it is given a chance to shutdown properly.
