Firefox no longer opens new window when I drag content of current window outside the browser.

After just upgrading to Firefox 9 from Firefox 3.6 I noticed that a certain feature is gone. In the old version I could drag the content of the current window or tab outside of the browser and it would automatically force that content into its own new window. I found this feature extremely useful and I can no longer do this. What happened? Is it just no longer supported or is it a glitch? If it is not supported, how can I reopen the current window/tab into a separate new window like before?

Does it work if you drag the tab slightly downwards in the browser window?
