How can I place a new website on my desktop in icon form?

The websites that I access the most I like to place on my desktop in icon or symbol form so they are easy to pull up whenever I log on. Can this be done with Firefox?

Hey martinmcleod,

This is actually really easy to do. All you have to do is go to the webpage that you want to bookmark. Click on the site icon to the left side of the URL and drag the icon to your desktop.

It's probably easier to see it done, so you should look at the KB article Create a desktop shortcut to a website.
