Getting tabs on the bottom in Firefox 5
Just installed firefox 5.0.1. Tabs are on teh very top, up in the menu control area (along with the window minimize/close buttons). Looked for an article describing how to reset. found one that gave an explanation for firefox 4, but it doesn't match version 5. I read your page about why "tabs on top" is better, but you're wrong. having the tabs up in the window control area is just annoying. With tabs at the bottom, when you have multiple pages open, your eye easily tracks from page to tabs, allowing easier selection. this on-top version forces a visual disconnect, as the eye has to jump over multiple menubars to find the tabs. You may have a "User Experience Team", but you all have confused personal preference for actual usability. It's a food critic with years of experience, who can't stand the food regular people eat. Your jaded, and it's starting to show.

Use "Alt" to display the toolbars temporarily then View > Toolbars > (click to uncheck) Tabs on Top, you can also turn on menu there as well under Toolbars.
The above is item #2 in in the following:
You can make Firefox Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6). Whether or not you make changes, you should be aware of what has changed and what you have to do to use changed or missing features.
Very cool, I'll try it tonight on my machine where FF5 is loaded. Thanks for the quick reply.
