Searches are redirected to another site

Check and tell if its working.
thank you for prompt reply but i am not being redirected to another site just get a window that covers 3 quarters of my search results page popping up that say logging-mozilla firefox with fox symbol next to it. under this in same window is a google bar and then a large blank white space it happens if i use the back arrow to return to a page that i previously viewed or make a new search from search results. i can get rid of it by going into tools and options and disallowing google.co.uk pop ups but then i get another annoying box inplace of it that says logger popup was blocked and until i click ok i cant use the site. only just started happening today when i allowed google pop ups on a site from your bar that came up with options at the side and now i cant get rid of it without disallowing google.co.uk popups as i said above and then i get the other annoying logger popup was blocked instead. want to be able to remove both like it was until this morning. many thks
I have this too - started about 2 hours ago. Have scanned machine with MS and Kaspersky malware detectors; nothing found. Very annoying. Switching to Private Browsing seems to work, but I'm not sure if there is any downside to this.
thats interesting that you have the same problem starting today. dont know anything about private browsing but i will try it, how do you activate it on pc pls. thks
Go to 'Tools' at the top of the page; it's at the bottom of the list. You lose your normal tabs, but at least (so far) it seems to stop the 'logging' problem.
thanks yes that certainly gets rid of the problem but have to go into private browsing everytime i shut down firefox and re search. hope someone can find a solution for both of us, private browsing just seems to not keep history or cookie info while you are using it, so i you sign into a new site it wont remember any passwords or log in info. otherwise i cant see any difference my suggestion is if you find a good page bookmark it and then you will be able to find site easily if you forget whole name etc. i may ask google about it, if i find anything out i will reply on here for you.
going back to problem above have also found that if you dont use private browsing but use another search engine option like yahoo etc you dont get the logging box either that makes me think it has something to do with google or google settings,
Thanks for this. See http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Web+Search/thread?tid=456630ce533e6e63&hl=en. This is clearly a fairly widespread problem; but having scanned most of the many comments, I can't find a solution, apart from the last one about clearing recent history, which I did (but it didn't work for me!). Clearly a Google rather than Firefox issue; I guess I'll use yahoo for a while until someone fixes it.
thanks for link yes i see a very widespread problem some people started this on 25th july so hopefully it will be sorted soon. one person suggested clearing all of the days history where the problem started have done this and makes no difference to mine. so will be using yahoo from now on and pop back to google every couple days to see if the problems solved.
see these articles thoroughly and perform the suggestions offered in them:

reply to ianr. have just tried google search again and the problem seems to have corrected itself without doing anything hopefully for good, but others seem to think it might do it again. hope you get yours sorted soon to. many thks for help
