I'm not getting my e mails and the updates won't end, but keep on spinning without end even after 24 hours, what's wrong?

Two things which might be related: When the update screen comes up, if I press to install, it spins for over 24 hours and never updates. I'm not getting my e mails and they have been sent.

uninstall then reinstall. That's the only solution I can think of, sorry
