When I use HDMI output on my Dell Studio Laptop connected to my LG TV, Adobe Flash Plugin crashes, and cannot recover without a reboot, even after the HDMI cable is unplugged. Is there any specific reason for this to happen?

I recently plugged my Dell Studio Laptop into my LG 42LE5400 TV via HDMI connection. When connected, Firefox freezes and ultimately needs to be restarted when watching videos is attempted (i.e. Hulu, Youtube, ESPN3, etc). Even after I unplug the HDMI cable, Firefox cannot recover Adobe Flash Player to watch videos without a system reboot. Any advice?
