My newly-reloaded Firefox crashes 6-8 times per day on a computer that Norton 360 guarantees as virus free. Whose problem is it, anyway?
I had a nasty virus infection on my PC operating under Windows XP, current Service Pack. It embedded but could not spread thanks to Norton 360. The problem was fixed by a Symantec tech who took remote control of my computer and spent several hours disinfecting my machine.
Just to be overly-safe, I uninstalled Firefox and reloaded it anew.
Now, (a) it hangs constantly and (b) crashes every day, time after time, for as many as eight times. I've lost data, links and correspondence too many times.

Do a clean (re)install:
- Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
- Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
- Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
