virus attack when I use firefox

Virus attacks my computer and causing computer crashed three times in the last 6 months. When I switch to internet explorer virus stop attacking me. Internet Explorer has conjunction antivirus program automatically scan. But Firefox does not have conjunction with any antivirus program that is why I got attacked. I like using firefox, is there anything you can do protect from virus attack?
