Hey first of all, thanks for testing Firefox Nightly. That's the best way to help Firefox stay ahead of breakages across the web by constantly testing it in the most popular sites & reporting back when you see a problem. Then future problems are prevented in the release version of Firefox because they were fixed very early in the Nightly release.

It's called "Nightly" for a reason though. The name means it will update once a night forever. Because new fixes are going in all the time. Sometimes there are too many to list so volunteers created a special tracking thread for each nightly's release so you can see exactly what new changes were added. Nightly builds are for advanced users or people who understand what Nightly builds are for & won't get angry when something breaks. Nightly builds get new code all the time so things are expected to break. Then the dedicated testers of Nightly builds immediately report the new bugs they found & the developers fix them very quickly. That's the beauty of Nightly builds.

If you still decide you can't handle all these constant updates, then you definitely need to move to the Release builds. Those only update once a month. If a big security exploit is found, expect 1 or 2 more releases in that same month.

The Nightly development channel has always been more for Testers and Developers in mind and not for regular Firefox users. The Nightly development channel gets checkins with two updates each day as a result with maybe the occasional respin build. While this may be a way to see new changes and features in the works early it can also lead to issues until it is fixed, finished or reverted.

Hi, Why is it so much updates all the time with Mozilla Firefox NIGHTLY Browser for the 127.0a1 version that was released 15th of April 2024? I don't even see the benefits of the updates or any information and what the content is in them. by clicking on "What new" doesn't show anything other than this from 15th of April.

The April 15 is just was when the 127.0 version started on the Nightly development channel.

The threads in the Firefox Builds section is a nice way to see the changes each day though sometimes the poster can be a little behind some days and have to create new threads for each build day at once sometimes.

Btw the 127.0a1 is old now as 127.0 is now on Beta channel and 128.0 has started on the Nightly channel as of May 13. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/128.0a1/releasenotes/

In the earlier days Firefox trunk builds of what is now called as Nightly used to have a cool globe bomb icon to show the builds were considered unstable in development.

You can click on the about:buildconfig that is on the about:support page for the source it was built from. All of the about urls for the build are listed in about:about

The Firefox useragents for every channel build used to also be a way to show the exact build you have with the build date however this was stopped as of the Firefox 16.0.2 Release and on in order to reduce the unique fingerprinting. The useragents have been more generic since then.

Perhaps you should use the Beta channel builds b# as it more stable and normally gets nine updates in testing now days as it used to be say fourteen. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-beta

Okay, so you mean builds and not just updates. I don't know and I don't think I want to know as well if there's a new build every single day during the udpates of Firefox NIGHTLY.
